I'm not a fan of most modern comics. Too many are just the middle 22 pages of a graphic novel. They don't have a whole plot to themselves with a beginning, middle, and end. They just have the middle bit of some longer story that is being cut up into small er chunks so that the publisher can sell it twice: once as individual comics and then again as a trade paperback.
That said, Detective Comics #1006 might be the start of something awesome. It could be the start of an awesome team up between Batman and The Spectre.
Or, it could be the the beginning of a new trade paperback. I won't really know till I read issue #1007. But, this issue certainly has me wanting to read that one.
